Bwlch Nant yr Arian

Bwlch Nant yr Arian is a small park that is one of the center points of the red kite population. Every day they feed the red kites in the afternoon and it is quite a sight to behold! There are also trails for walking, running, and biking. It's located in the Cambrian Mountains and offers an amazing view of the Rheidol Valley. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and got to go on this trip with a small group of animal behavior students. The professor was very gracious in letting me and two other international students tag along for the experience. Thank you so much!
Rheidol Valley:

If you look closely you can see little white specks,
sheep, and little black specks, cows.

The two other international students who tagged along enjoying the view!
There are signs about that show the different trails that are around to explore:

At the center, there is a path that goes around a pond where the birds are fed and there are statues all around:

View of the pond.

Wind turbines!

There were several of these statues around with different tools on them.
They had another wood block by them where you could turn a dial and a voice
would tell you some facts about the area that related to the tool.

Lady Spirit of the Mountain
Feeding time:
The birds were fed scraps from a local butcher. The scraps were thrown
out in front of the building you see in the background.

The birds seemed to know what time it was! At the bottom you
can see the lady with her wheelbarrow throwing the scraps onto
the ground and into the water.

I got really lucky with these next two shots. They look really cool! The birds would dive down and fish the scraps out of the water.

Fly high and fly free!

Made the trip on September 28, 2016.
